Hi, I'm Lela, the artist behind

tangle works studio. I'm based in Ithaca, NY

From my home studio, I compose fiber-based wall art through weaving, punch needle as well as a painterly approach to fiber, using materials like yarn, roving and pipe cleaners much like paint, layering them to create textured and expressive, one of a kind pieces.

My work embraces neon-driven color, rich textures, and abstract forms to explore expressive movement. The process is intuitive as well as experimental, allowing the materials along with composition to develop naturally as I create.
